Ventura Film Festival Offering International Film to Ventura

The Ventura Film Festival has earned recognition as "the most extensive film festival in Ventura County's history." This prestigious recognition underscores the organization's dedication to showcasing international filmmaking to Ventura County while preserving its dedication to vital ecological concerns.

The Ventura Film Festival operates as an unrestricted genre international film festival that raises awareness for environmental challenges including forest and sea protection and rehabilitation, through a yearly film festival and related events. The Ventura Film Festival began in 2004 and has presented countless films, typically more than 200 films every summer, and has generated excitement within the global cinema community. Distinguished events have encompassed hosting award winning filmmaker Dylan O'Neil, the inaugural world champion surfers Peter "PT" Townend together with Ian Cairns, four-time world champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/mixed martial arts fighter the celebrated Fabio Leopoldo, and the 50-year anniversary of West Side Story, which comprised receiving the complete Academy Award winning ensemble of West Side Story, featuring Academy Award honoree/Golden Globe winner George Chakiris as well as Golden Globe honoree/Academy Award nominee Russ Tamblyn. This gathering also operated as the official BluRay release by Fox and MGM of the classic West Side Story, which is commonly viewed by critics and fans as the ultimate musical of all time.
